If there's one thing I want to be remembered for when I die, it's my irrational love of technology. And what would be a more appropriate place to showcase my obsession than my gravestone? The Serenity Panel from morbidly geeky company Vidstone is a solar-powered 7-inch LCD screen that goes in your gravestone. It then displays a 5- to 8-minute photo slideshow "detailing the most precious memories of your loved one's life." Or, in my case, photos of me beating Super Mario 3 in under 10 minutes. It also features two weatherproof headphone jacks, so you can loop some music over your precious memories, or even a recording of you speaking from beyond the grave. The batteries refresh completely after 4 hours of sunlight, and a full charge can play the slideshow three or four times. The irony of the Serenity Panel is the fact that your gravestone will become obsolete in just a few months, just like that MP3 player you bought before the Jet Ski accident. Pricing information isn't available, but you can get in touch with Vidstone to place an order via their Web site… before it's too late.
