Airswitch brightens with a wave of the hand

mathmos_airswitch_w.jpgIn the spirit of switchless lights like the On/Off lamp or the clapper, here's a light that you don't even need to touch to turn on. You activate the Mathmos Airswitch merely by waving your hand slowly over it, and you can make it dim or brighten with upward or downward movement. We aren't sure exactly how this works, but we're going to assume it uses magic. So if the effort and precision required to operate a light switch is too much for you, now you can just gesture. The Mathmos is made of glass, and it comes in two shapes: the bulbous Airswitch TC and the beaker-like Airswitch 1, each $85, both available now.
