Checking out photos and videos on portable devices is definitely a big perk of today's gadgets — as long as you can stand squinting at micro-size screens. But if Polymer Vision gets its way, your view of portable entertainment should expand. The company's flexible-screen technology can roll out of any portable more than 0.3 inches thick, unfurling an on-the-go monitor. A 320 x 240-pixel count isn't great, but that's the same resolution as the iPod's 2.5-inch screen, only the prototype display shown here pumps up the size to 5 inches. Polymer says its screens would work with most gadgets: GPS devices, portable video players, and cell phones, just to name a few.
