Flash drives for dummies, klutzes

imationgroup_w.jpg

Imation believes the best place to store a portable flash drive is somewhere on your bag (as opposed to, say, in it). Thus, the Clip USB 2.0 Flash Drive. The press release describes the actual clip as "ultra-tough caribineer," which apparently means, simply, "metal" (and not made from whatever's left of a rifleman). The drive is intended to be attached to backpacks, belt loops, or briefcase straps. Its removable rubber case is also tough, a reassurance to mountain climbers, bungee jumpers, and typical high school students that their data will be well protected. The Clip Drives come in orange, blue, and black with capacities from 256 MB to 2 GB, and they'll be available at Target and other stores for between $30 and $120 by the end of April.
