Next Generation, a site covering the business side of gaming, cites "developer sources" when it says Sony is planning on a September launch date for the PlayStation 3 game console. "Some in the industry" then go on to pull the following release dates out of their butts: September 16th in Japan, followed by a Sept. 21st release in the U.S. It's all speculation at this point, but somewhat more credible is the buzz about PlayStation Hub, a new online gave service modeled after Xbox Live. The still-unofficial Hub looks to give the presumed hordes of PS3 owners abilities like chat, downloadable demos, and online play, plus it should support the PSP, too. If all goes as rumored, by September, PlayStation will finally be where Xbox was three months ago. — Peter Pachal
