Today, the 1-GB iPod nano is officially a reality and surprise, the shuffle's still alive and kicking. After weeks of speculation that a 1-GB nano would lay waste to the shuffle, it turns out Apple will release their newest nano without pulling the plug on the screenless wonder — at least for now. The 1-GB nano will be priced at a relatively affordable $149 while shuffle prices will fall: the 1-GB version will go for $99 (from $129), while the 512-MB model will drop to $69 (from $99).
